Functionly is an organizational design platform for leaders and teams planning growth, restructures, mergers, and workforce changes. Its interactive org charts support drag-and-drop design, employee and position imports, reporting relationships, dotted-line reporting, accountability mapping, and custom fields. Teams can also compare future-state structures, forecast headcount and compensation, and collaborate through shared read-only links. It is particularly suited to organizations that need more than a static hierarchy and want to connect workforce planning with organizational design.
Pricing follows a freemium model with flat monthly workspace prices. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes unlimited org charts, unlimited people, basic CSV and Slack import, basic exporting, and a self-service knowledge base. Starter costs $99.95 per month and adds HRIS imports and integrations, realtime reporting, roles and responsibilities, role templates and exports, and priority email support. Team costs $299.70 per month and adds team charts, advanced imports and integrations, advanced realtime reporting, advanced exporting, functional resourcing, and workforce planning. The paid tiers retain unlimited org size, while the cheapest paid plan includes five collaborators. A 22-day trial is also available.
The strongest fit is for teams that need to model possible organizations before making changes. HRIS and payroll connections include ADP, BambooHR, HiBob, Gusto, Namely, Paycor, Paylocity, QuickBooks, and Workday, while Slack is supported for imports. AI workforce design features extend the planning toolkit, and real-time collaboration supports shared decision-making. The trade-off is that the most advanced resourcing, workforce planning, charting, importing, reporting, and exporting capabilities sit in the Team plan. Teams seeking a simple, static chart or a non-web application may prefer a narrower alternative.
