Our verdict on Frappe Lending

Frappe Lending is an open-source loan management system built on ERPNext and the Frappe Framework. It is designed for financial institutions, non-bank financial companies, fintech lenders, and other lending businesses managing loans across their full lifecycle. Teams can configure loan products with interest structures, terms, fees, and repayment options, then handle origination, account creation, disbursement, servicing, collections, settlements, write-offs, and refunds in one system. Supported lending use cases include home loans, business credit, consumer loans, term loans, and lines of credit.

Pricing is structured around deployment rather than separate per-user license fees. The Self-host plan is free, deploys on your own server, and is GPL-3.0 licensed. Frappe Cloud Sites starts at $5 per month for a single site on shared servers, with managed upgrades and backups. Frappe Cloud Servers - Hetzner costs $20 per month for a virtual machine supporting multiple sites and benches, with shared or dedicated instances and unified or separate app and database options. Frappe Cloud Servers - Dedicated costs $60 per month and adds dedicated server isolation, snapshots, autoscaling, and global data centre locations. A 14-day free trial is also available.

Its strongest fit is breadth: repayment schedules can run monthly, weekly, quarterly, as lump sums, or through lines of credit, while the system also covers interest accruals, payment allocation, penalties, collateral valuation, DPD and NPA classifications, taxation, co-lending, loan transfers, and credit bureau file generation. ERPNext integration and the Frappe Framework REST API support broader operational workflows. Choose Frappe Lending when flexible deployment and wide lending coverage matter more than a narrow, turnkey borrower experience. Teams wanting a hosted single-site setup can start affordably, while organizations needing more control can select self-hosting or dedicated infrastructure.
