Our verdict on Fotoback
Fotoback is an iPhone photo-backup service designed for parents and families. It automatically backs up camera-roll photos in the background, including when the app is closed or the phone is locked, and stores full-resolution originals with end-to-end encryption. A restored archive can be moved to a new iPhone. Beyond backup, Fotoback adds child-age timelines, automatic milestone detection, wardrobe organization and wear insights. The free plan includes 5 GB of encrypted backup, basic organization, a basic baby growth timeline and one child profile.
The pricing structure combines subscriptions with one-time purchases. Pro App costs $24.99 once and includes 10 GB of encrypted backup, lifetime access to all organization features, a full baby timeline and milestones, wardrobe organization and unlimited child profiles. The 100 GB plan costs $1.99 monthly or $19.99 annually and adds background backup plus full organization on uploads. The 500 GB plan costs $4.99 monthly and includes family sharing for four members, while the 2 TB plan costs $9.99 monthly and includes six family members. A Lifetime 1 TB option costs $199 once and includes organization features for life without a monthly fee.
Fotoback’s strongest fit is an iPhone household that wants automatic, encrypted photo preservation alongside family-focused organization. Selected plans support family sharing, and the larger 500 GB tier adds a priority backup queue. The service remains narrowly focused on iOS, so it is not suited to households needing broader platform coverage. It also is not built for RAW workflows, making it a better match for standard iPhone camera-roll archives than for photographers managing RAW libraries. Choose Fotoback for encrypted original-photo backup, child timelines and wardrobe tools; consider another option when cross-platform access or RAW support is central.
