FortiSandbox review
A Fortinet-focused sandbox combining static, dynamic and machine-learning-assisted analysis.

FortiSandbox is Fortinet’s malware-analysis sandbox for security and SOC teams. It examines suspicious files through static and dynamic analysis, machine-learning-assisted detection and virtual-machine execution. The product supports SaaS, PaaS, virtual appliance and hardware deployments, with web, API and self-hosted access. It is best suited to organizations that already operate Fortinet security products and want malware analysis connected to that environment.
Its strongest differentiator is the depth of analysis and visibility. FortiSandbox provides real-time verdicts and protection, broad file-type analysis, automatic image and embedded-content analysis, and visibility into attack chains and execution paths. Job-detail reporting helps surface suspicious indicators, while the platform is designed to detect emerging threats such as zero-days and ransomware. API access is available alongside network-share, adapter and sniffer submission workflows, giving security teams several ways to submit content for analysis.
The ecosystem fit is a central consideration. Integrations include FortiGate, FortiMail, FortiNDR, FortiEDR, FortiProxy, FortiSIEM, FortiADC, FortiClient, FortiSOAR, FortiWeb and FortiSASE, extending analysis across Fortinet’s Security Fabric. Pricing follows a contact-sales model rather than a published self-serve plan structure. FortiSandbox is a strong choice for Fortinet environments that need integrated sandboxing, automated analysis and attack-chain context. Organizations seeking a standalone sandbox with a broad non-Fortinet ecosystem may find its primary advantage less relevant.
