FortiGSLB Cloud review
A Fortinet-focused DNS failover service with geographic, weighted, and performance-based routing.

FortiGSLB Cloud is Fortinet’s DNS-based global server load balancing service for organizations running applications across multiple data centers or cloud environments. It directs DNS requests using geographic location, server or site availability, and performance or load signals. Mid-market and enterprise teams that need DNS-based traffic management and failover, particularly in Fortinet environments, are the clearest fit.
Routing options include geographic and weighted distribution, along with decisions based on server performance and load. Configurable health checks monitor application endpoints; when a location becomes unavailable, the service can reroute traffic to an available or second-closest service. Primary and secondary DNS, DNSSEC, synthetic application testing across multiple protocols, and DNS history statistics add operational coverage. These capabilities suit teams managing distributed application availability; buyers focused primarily on query-log analysis should clarify that requirement before choosing it.
Fortinet lists integrations with FortiADC, FortiGate SD-WAN, FortiGate SSL-VPN, FortiGate ZTNA/VIP, and FortiWeb, as well as Security Fabric connectors and API integration. That makes it a natural consideration for organizations already using those products, while teams outside the Fortinet ecosystem may prefer to compare services around their existing infrastructure. Fortinet offers the service as a standalone license or as part of FortiAppSec Cloud Enterprise, with purchases through Fortinet Sales or eligible cloud marketplaces. Choose it for DNS routing and failover within a Fortinet-centered environment; consider alternatives if public self-service pricing or a clearly established query-log capability is essential.
