Forcepoint Network Security Platform review
Deep inspection and centralized response for distributed enterprise networks.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Forcepoint Network Security Platform is a next-generation firewall for mid-market and enterprise networks, particularly distributed environments spanning data centers, campuses, offices, branches and remote sites. It combines network access control, VPN connectivity, intrusion prevention and traffic inspection. The Secure Management Console provides centralized policy management, incident response and reporting, giving security teams a common management point across the platform.
Inspection depth is a central strength. The product supports intrusion detection and prevention, SSL/TLS decryption and inspection, full-stream traffic inspection with payload reconstruction, and exploit and vulnerability detection through fingerprint matching. Anti-botnet and DoS/DDoS protections extend its defenses, while traffic recording and log correlation support review of network activity. Firewall clustering and high availability are also listed, making the platform relevant where continuity and traffic visibility matter. Organizations seeking a basic perimeter firewall may find this breadth more than they need.
Deployment spans purpose-built appliances as well as software for virtualized and cloud environments, with cloud and self-hosted options. Forcepoint describes VPN connectivity, but site-to-site VPN support should be clarified for deployments that require it. The pricing model is contact sales, with no free plan; buyers will need to discuss costs and model selection with Forcepoint. Published model-specific throughput figures may help compare appliances, but teams should validate the figures for their own traffic and environment. This is a fit for enterprises that prioritize detailed inspection and centralized response, less so for buyers seeking transparent self-service pricing or a narrowly scoped firewall.
