Our verdict on Flying Donut
Flying Donut is a cloud project-management workspace for teams coordinating product and engineering delivery, with Scrum, Kanban and Scrumban workflows. It suits small and mid-sized groups that need backlog organization, sprint planning and reporting, while Workmate AI can generate or refine backlog cards, break stories into tasks and answer questions about boards and sprints. The free plan makes it accessible to small teams exploring structured agile work without a paid commitment.
Its workflow coverage extends from prioritized backlog buckets and drag-and-drop ordering to sprint goals, task breakdown, real-time burndown, velocity tracking and sprint reporting. Teams can use Kanban boards with customizable columns and WIP limits, and assignments and real-time collaboration support day-to-day coordination. GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab links connect commits and issues to work items; Google Drive and Dropbox support file attachments. A REST API is available for exports, reports and automations.
