Firefly review
Enterprise IaC governance with drift remediation, recovery workflows, and a high entry price.

Firefly is a cloud infrastructure management platform for enterprise CloudOps, platform engineering, security, and governance teams. It discovers cloud resources, generates infrastructure as code, orchestrates Terraform, OpenTofu, and Terragrunt workflows, detects configuration drift, and supports policy enforcement and remediation. Web and API access, multi-cloud governance, and support for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI, and Nebius give it a broad infrastructure-management scope.
Pricing is aimed at organizations with substantial governance needs. The 14-Day Trial provides full feature access, unlimited users and cloud accounts, and requires no credit card. Essential costs $2,499 per month when billed annually and includes up to 20K assets, IaC orchestration, GitOps guardrails, self-service provisioning, drift detection and auto-remediation, automated IaC generation, and custom policies. Enterprise uses custom pricing and adds infrastructure backup and disaster recovery, complete configuration history, SSO/SAML with advanced RBAC, advanced audit logging and reports, and ServiceNow integration. There is no free plan, so smaller teams should weigh the entry price carefully.
Firefly’s strongest case is centralized control across the infrastructure lifecycle. Managed and self-hosted runners support plan and apply execution, while remote Terraform state management, state history, Git-based workflows, and pull-request or merge-triggered automation connect governance to delivery. Codification can convert existing resources into Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, and other IaC formats. Integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Terraform Cloud, Datadog, PagerDuty, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and ServiceNow extend operational fit. Choose Firefly for enterprise governance, drift remediation, and recovery; choose a narrower IaC tool when this breadth and cost are unnecessary.
