FIO Protocol gives people and applications human-readable FIO Handles and FIO Domains in place of blockchain public addresses. The web-based FIO App supports registering and managing them, mapping handles to blockchain addresses, sending encrypted payment requests and metadata, transferring ownership, staking tokens, and wrapping domains. Its free plan and address-mapping features make it a fit for users who want a simpler identifier for crypto payments, while application developers can use the REST API to resolve handles. The protocol runs on the public FIO Chain and is open source.

The product’s standout focus is linking identity with payment communication. FIO Requests let users send encrypted crypto payment requests, and FIO Data provides encrypted transaction metadata. NFT signatures and attestations add identity-related functions, while token transfer and staking are also supported. These capabilities make FIO broader than a handle lookup alone, but they are centered on FIO’s own protocol and chain. Buyers should consider whether those protocol-specific functions fit the wallets and applications they intend to use.

The free plan covers FIO Handles, while the listed FIO Domain plan is for an NFT domain used as a Web3 identity and allows transfer and trading. The official app page displayed a price of 7.51 USDC when checked, and domain pricing is dynamic, so the amount may vary. FIO Domains intentionally have no extensions. Web, API, cloud, and browser-extension access are listed, with ticket, community, and documentation support. Choose FIO if free human-readable handles, address mapping, and encrypted payment requests are priorities; look elsewhere if a domain extension is essential or if the specific FIO protocol features do not match your intended ecosystem.
