Our verdict on FinFolio

FinFolio is portfolio management software for investment advisors, professional wealth managers, RIAs and other financial institutions. It brings together multi-currency portfolio accounting, performance reporting, tax-lot and cost-basis tracking, model-based rebalancing, FIX-enabled trade order management, billing, dashboards and customizable client portals. Its coverage suits firms managing multi-asset portfolios that need both operational workflows and client-facing tools across web, tablets and phones.

Integration breadth is a central part of the product’s fit. FinFolio connects with custodians including Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers and Pershing, along with CRM, risk, planning, document and financial-data systems such as Redtail Technology, Wealthbox, Riskalyze, RightCapital, Box.com and Morningstar ByAllAccounts. Microsoft Office is also supported. The open REST API gives firms another route for connecting internal systems, while FIX support addresses trade order workflows. These options make the platform relevant to firms building a connected technology stack rather than looking for an isolated portfolio ledger.

The product’s breadth is also its main selection consideration. Alongside accounting and reporting, firms can manage rebalancing, SMA and UMA strategies, billing and payouts, dashboards, data imports and portals, with hosted or self-managed deployment available. That range should appeal to organizations wanting one platform across portfolio operations and advisor-client services. Firms seeking only lightweight tracking or a narrow reporting tool may find the scope unnecessary, while firms without trading workflows may not need FIX-enabled order management. Pricing follows a contact-sales model, so prospective customers should expect a direct evaluation rather than a self-serve purchase path.
