Our verdict on FinCalc
FinCalc is cloud-based financial planning software for UK financial advisers and planning firms. It combines lifetime cash-flow modelling with retirement, goal, tax, investment and scenario planning. Advisers can model income, expenditure, assets, wealth accumulation, life events, milestones, retirement strategies and drawdown options. The platform also includes UK income-tax calculations, tax-paid analysis, inheritance-tax modelling and pension transfer analysis, with client access available through a secure portal.
Its strongest fit is breadth within adviser-led planning. Deterministic, stochastic and stress-test modelling support different planning approaches, while side-by-side scenario comparison helps advisers present alternative outcomes. Visual timelines give life events and goals a clear place in the plan, and client-ready PDF reports add graphical outputs for client discussions. The portal extends the workflow beyond the adviser, providing plan access and progress tracking. FinCalc is available through the web and API, with integrations for DocuSign, intelliflo, Iress Xplan, Twenty7tec, Plannr CRM, Curo (Time4Advice) and ZeroKey.
FinCalc uses a contact-sales pricing model, with fees set through an order form, order or rental agreement. That structure suits firms assessing a broader planning workflow alongside their existing back-office and CRM systems. It is less suitable for buyers seeking a simple consumer budgeting tool or a narrowly focused calculator. Firms choosing FinCalc should value detailed lifetime modelling, UK tax treatment, scenario analysis, adviser reporting and connected client access; those priorities matter more here than a lightweight, self-serve planning experience.
