Our verdict on Finbox

Finbox is a web-based financial research platform for investors and analysts conducting equity research, valuation work, and company comparisons. Its toolkit combines a stock screener, normalized financials, valuation ratios, forecasts, peer comparisons, watchlists, charts, dividend tracking, and earnings tracking. The product is aimed at users who need investment-analysis workflows rather than general financial planning, particularly when research needs to move between browser-based models and spreadsheets.

Its strongest area is valuation depth. Finbox provides fair-value estimates through discounted cash flow, comparable-company, and dividend-discount models. Users can edit assumptions in the browser, review validation checks, and work with scenarios. Financials Explorer organizes normalized financials, valuation ratios, and forecasts, while Data Explorer provides more than 1,000 financial metrics. This makes the platform suitable for analysts who want a broad market-data workspace alongside editable company models, rather than a tool limited to a single valuation method.

Spreadsheet compatibility is central to the workflow. Models can be exported to Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel with formulas retained, and spreadsheet add-ons can import Finbox data into workbooks. The Starter plan includes website tools for stocks trading on U.S. exchanges and premium metrics, with Data Boost and additional regions available as add-ons. The Professional plan includes all regions and benefits, with Data Boost included for all regions. Finbox is a strong fit for equity research and valuation analysis; users seeking general budgeting, broader financial planning, or non-web deployment should consider a different type of product.
