Our verdict on Finalist

Finalist brings tasks, calendar events, reminders, habits, notes, weather, and journal entries into a day-focused planner for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It is aimed at individuals who prefer a visual agenda or paper-planner-style workflow and want to coordinate daily commitments in one view. Its week, month, and year planner views offer a wider planning horizon, while synchronization through iCloud supports use across Apple devices.

Time blocking is a central part of the workflow: tasks can be placed on a timeline, including tentatively, and task times can be entered in natural language. Recurring reminders and habit schedules suit routines, while notes support Markdown formatting and subtasks. Voice task capture is available on supported Apple Intelligence devices. The combination makes Finalist more than a task list, but its focus is still personal planning rather than team project coordination.

The Apple ecosystem fit is a strength and a boundary. Finalist synchronizes with Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders, and also lists iCloud, Apple Health, Siri, and Shortcuts among its integrations. Its apps are for iOS and macOS, so it is not a fit for people who need Android or Windows access. The published plan names include monthly, yearly, and lifetime options, each with standard and Pro variants; the listed starting price is 4.99, while the amount and currency are not specified here. Choose Finalist if an Apple-based daily agenda combining schedules, habits, and notes is the priority; choose a cross-platform planner if work spans other operating systems.
