FilePulse is a desktop file-search application for people who need to find material across local files, mapped remote folders, or connected cluster nodes. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with a local web interface. Search covers file names and supported file contents, while OCR can find text in images and scanned PDFs. Visual search adds a way to find similar images and matching video segments, making the product relevant to users whose archives include media as well as documents.

The search options extend beyond basic terms: file names support wildcard patterns, regular expressions, filters, and Pinyin matching, while supported file contents can be searched with full-text matching and filters. Results can be previewed and organized using annotations, grouping, pinned items, and custom sorting. FilePulse also detects duplicates using size and signatures, and includes file transfer and synchronization for mapped local and remote folders. Cluster search supports up to 256 servers, which may suit teams that need to search across several connected systems rather than only one workstation.

According to the published plans, FilePulse Pro costs $19 per device per year and includes local file-name search, real-time content search, visual search, OCR, workspace features, and cluster search. A 30-day free trial is offered, but there is no free plan. Enterprise pricing is custom; that tier adds volume license management, dedicated technical support, and priority feature updates. The per-device annual license makes Pro a practical fit for individuals and teams able to license each device, while organizations needing volume licensing or dedicated support should consider Enterprise. FilePulse is less suited to buyers who require email or message search, since its focus is file search.
