FilePulse review
A flexible file-transfer service with BYOS and self-managed options, but no free plan.

FilePulse provides managed SFTP and FTP endpoints for teams that want file-transfer access without maintaining the server themselves. It connects to Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, and Azure Blob Storage, and can combine multiple backends in a unified virtual filesystem. A web file browser and API access cover browser-based and programmatic workflows. Cloud and self-hosted deployments make it relevant to small, mid-market, and enterprise organizations with different infrastructure preferences.
Storage and deployment flexibility are the product’s defining strengths. BYOS Small starts at $18 per month and BYOS Medium at $35 per month, with customers bringing their own S3, GCS, or Azure storage. The Small plan includes SFTP and FTP plus SSH key authentication; Medium adds audit logging. The pricing page does not state a storage quota for these plans, so buyers should account for storage provided separately. For organizations that want to host the service themselves, Self-Managed includes on-premises deployment, full data sovereignty, and all features. The published plans also include a 14-day free trial, but there is no free plan.
Security controls and operational visibility include SSH key authentication, IP allowlists with CIDR support, audit logs for file operations, and HTTPS webhooks for file events. Plan details differ: Small includes email support, Medium adds audit logging and priority email support, and Large includes audit logging and priority support. XL lists all security features and dedicated support; Enterprise adds SSO / SAML, a custom SLA, and a dedicated account manager. FilePulse is a fit for teams that need storage-backend choice or self-hosting alongside SFTP and FTP. Teams seeking a free service, or storage included in the low-cost BYOS plans, should look elsewhere.
