Faugus Launcher review
A free, open-source Linux launcher for games from Steam, Epic, and GOG.

Faugus Launcher is a Linux desktop game launcher for running Windows games through UMU-Launcher and Proton. It is aimed at Linux users who want one library for games from multiple stores, along with tools for managing Proton installations and game prefixes. Steam users can have games detected and shortcuts created, while Epic Games and GOG Galaxy launchers are supported through Proton. The project is free, open-source software under the MIT license, with installation options for Arch-based, Fedora/Nobara, Debian-based distributions, Flatpak, and source builds.
Its strongest area is library and launch control. Games can be displayed in list, grid, covers, or carousel views, with artwork downloaded from SteamGridDB. Launch arguments and presets provide per-game configuration options, and PlayStation and Xbox gamepad navigation make the launcher usable from a controller. The Proton Manager also gives the app a dedicated role beyond presenting shortcuts: it helps manage installed Proton versions for the Windows games in the library. Backup, restore, and automatic backup tools add another layer of organization for launcher data and game setup.
Faugus Launcher is a focused choice for Linux gaming rather than a cross-platform launcher. Its documented store connections center on Steam, Epic Games, and GOG Galaxy, and its Windows-game support is built around UMU-Launcher and Proton. Users who want a Linux-native interface, multi-store organization, controller navigation, and Proton management should find the feature set aligned with that workflow. It is less suitable for anyone seeking a launcher that runs across Linux and other desktop platforms or that extends beyond its Proton-centered ecosystem.
