A Linux-focused recovery service for teams that need coded runbooks and scheduled drills.

FailZero is a disaster-recovery-as-a-service offering for teams running Linux-native infrastructure. It covers files, shares, databases, containers, virtual machines, Docker/Compose applications, LAMP/LEMP environments, and SMB/NFS workloads. Its recovery approach combines ZFS snapshots and send/receive replication, S3 mirroring, database point-in-time recovery, environment rebuilds, traffic switchover, health checks, and evidence bundles. The platform is aimed at teams that need recovery procedures represented as code, including hosting providers, web applications, radio platforms, and custom Linux environments.
The published monthly plans create a clear progression. Starter costs 149 USD per month for one app stack, monthly drills, a runbook and restore test, a monthly report, and email support. Pro costs 399 USD per month for up to three app stacks and adds bi-weekly drills, database point-in-time recovery, evidence bundles, priority support, and Telegram alerts. Enterprise includes unlimited stacks, weekly drills, custom RTO/RPO, on-call support, compliance artifacts, and on-premises plus cloud hybrid deployment. There is no free plan. Teams should match the tier to the number of stacks, drill frequency, support expectations, and recovery objectives they require.
FailZero’s strongest fit is an open-infrastructure ecosystem: it connects with S3, Telegram, Docker/Compose, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and SMB/NFS. Its genesisctl runbooks can rebuild Docker/Compose, Helm, and Ansible environments, while VRRP and DNS traffic switchover support application recovery beyond backup restoration. The trade-off is scope and recovery timing: the platform is Linux-only, and the published entry RPO is up to 24 hours, represented as 1,440 minutes. Choose FailZero for Linux teams prioritizing repeatable recovery drills and operational evidence; choose an alternative if broader operating-system coverage or a shorter standard RPO is essential.

- Point-in-time recovery for PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB
- Evidence bundles include logs, hashes, screenshots, and timestamps
- Where it doesn't
- Linux-only platform scope
- Starter limits coverage to one app stack
- Published entry RPO is up to 24 hours
