Our verdict on Facetune
Facetune is a mobile photo and video editing app from Lightricks for consumers, creators, and social-media users. Its focus is portrait and beauty work: users can retouch blemishes, smooth skin, conceal under-eye areas, reshape facial features, whiten teeth, enhance smiles, and edit makeup, hairstyles, hair color, and nails. It also covers background removal and replacement, object, text, and people removal, filters, lighting effects, overlays, cropping, flipping, and image enhancement. Video retouching and video effects extend the product beyond still images, while iOS and Android support keep the workflow centered on smartphones and tablets.
The published plans show a seven-day premium trial followed by paid subscriptions, with no free plan. Monthly costs $25 per month, Quarterly costs $40 every 3 months, and Yearly costs $77.99 per year. All three listed plans include AI Headshots, AI Clothes Changer, AI Beard Filters, Photo Retouch, and Virtual Hair & Nails. The Yearly plan has the lowest listed plan amount, making it the clearest fit for users who expect to edit regularly; Monthly suits shorter commitments, while Quarterly sits between those options.
Facetune stands out through the breadth of its AI-assisted portrait and beauty toolkit rather than through a broad desktop editing ecosystem. Manual and AI facial reshaping, skin and smile adjustments, hair and nail changes, background work, and removal tools give mobile creators many ways to prepare social images in one app. Users seeking mobile-first portrait editing and video effects should find the feature mix aligned with that goal. Those who need desktop coverage, a free ongoing plan, or advanced workflows such as RAW support, editable layers, masking, batch editing, or cloud synchronization should choose a different editor.
