Our verdict on Exgentic

Exgentic is an open-source framework for evaluating AI agents across standardized benchmarks and domains. It is designed for agent builders, researchers, component developers, and benchmark creators who need a consistent way to run evaluations and compare results. The framework is available through an API and self-hosted workflows, with both a command-line interface and a Python API for programmatic runs.

Benchmark coverage is a central strength. Exgentic supports environments including tau2, AppWorld, BrowseComp+, SWE-bench, HotpotQA, GSM8K, and BFCL, while integrations include LiteLLM, SmolAgents, OpenAI MCP, Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Gemini CLI. Docker-based isolation can separate benchmark runs, and the CLI supports installing, running, inspecting, and comparing evaluations. This makes Exgentic a strong fit for teams working across different agents or benchmark domains rather than teams evaluating one narrowly defined workflow.

The output layer adds useful detail for engineering analysis: runs can include scores, costs, benchmark results, configurations, logs, and trajectories, with dashboard and comparison tools for reviewing outcomes. The tradeoff is scope. Exgentic uses code-based evaluation methods and does not provide verified safety or regression features, so teams prioritizing those capabilities should choose a tool built around them. Pick Exgentic when standardized benchmark execution, agent integrations, and comparable cost and trajectory outputs are the priority; look elsewhere when safety validation or regression management is the primary requirement.
