eqMac is a macOS application for processing and customizing system audio output. It suits Mac users who want more control than basic system volume settings, including people adjusting bass, mids, treble, channels, or output-specific presets. The Free plan covers a basic equalizer, a fixed 10-band advanced equalizer, headphone presets, volume and balance controls, and multiple audio devices. The application supports macOS 10.13 and later on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

The main distinction between the plans is how far they take audio control. Pro Subscription costs $1 per device per month and adds an unlimited-band expert equalizer, app volume mixer, spatial audio, dedicated support, and future updates at no additional cost. Free users still get useful EQ and device controls, while Pro is the relevant tier for per-application volume management, spatial effects, and more detailed parametric adjustments. A Lifetime License provides lifetime access to current Pro features, dedicated support, and security and compatibility updates for one Mac license.

Its ecosystem fit is a strong part of the product. eqMac works with Audio Units and supports Bluetooth, AirPlay 1, USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, aggregate devices, and multi-output devices. It can also switch presets automatically based on the output device or main audio app, and includes separate left/right channel equalization, a spectrum analyzer, and Audio Unit hosting. Choose eqMac if you want system-wide Mac audio customization with a free entry point and an upgrade path to deeper controls. It is less suitable if you need a non-macOS version or want advanced features such as app mixing and spatial audio without moving beyond the Free plan.
