Elastx OpenStack IaaS is a hosted virtual data center for organizations running business-critical workloads and sensitive data. It provides KVM-based virtual machines, local SSD boot disks, block storage, object storage, networking, firewalls, load balancing, and GPU instances. The service is aimed at teams that want OpenStack capabilities while Elastx operates the underlying platform. Customers retain responsibility for their instances, operating systems, data, and backups. The platform is available through a web interface, OpenStack APIs, and command-line tools.
Pricing is paid and billed monthly per instance. The published entry plan, v1-c1-m0.5-d20, costs 84 SEK per instance per month and includes 1 vCPU, 0.5 GB RAM, and 20 GB disk. Prices are displayed in SEK and exclude VAT. Beyond the entry configuration, the service supports multiple compute flavors, GPU instances with NVIDIA A100, L4, L40s, and RTX PRO 6000 GPUs, and block storage volumes with multiple performance tiers. Heat-based autoscaling and redundant L4-L7 load balancing with SSL termination add infrastructure options for applications that need scaling or traffic management.
Its strongest fit is for GPU workloads that need Swedish availability zones, replicated object storage, distributed networking, and managed OpenStack operations. Three availability zones, three-copy object storage across availability zones, hardware-backed secrets storage, security groups, firewalls, DDoS protection, and identity options including TOTP, WebAuthn, Keystone/Adjutant, and application credentials provide a broad infrastructure foundation. Terraform, the OpenStack CLI, and the OpenStack API support automation. Organizations seeking bare metal, multiple geographic regions, or a fully provider-managed application environment should consider a different model; Elastx is better suited to teams comfortable managing their own cloud instances and data responsibilities.
