Our verdict on eJournalPress

For scientific, technical, medical and engineering publications, eJournalPress provides web-based tools for managing manuscripts from submission and peer review through acceptance. Its EJPress product supports configurable editorial roles, workflows and letters, along with collection and tracking of disclosure and copyright forms. The broader suite also covers production and billing, making it relevant to journals that want editorial operations and later publishing steps handled in one connected environment.

Multi-journal organizations may benefit from shared databases and manuscript transfers between journals. The suite can export data and files to external vendors, while its Journal Production System offers customizable tracking from copyediting through online publication. Billing Payment System workflows cover fees, invoices, discounts and payment collection. This breadth suits publishers coordinating editorial and production processes across journals; a team looking only for a basic submission portal may find the additional workflow areas unnecessary.

According to the vendor's published information, setup involves a fee and prospective customers are directed to contact eJournalPress, so buyers should expect a sales conversation rather than selecting from publicly stated plan amounts. Individualized phone and email support is part of the offering. Choose eJournalPress if configurable journal processes, transfers, production tracking or billing are central requirements and direct support matters. Consider a narrower alternative if transparent self-service pricing or a simpler, submission-only tool is a priority.
