Our verdict on eclipso Mail Europe
eclipso Mail Europe is a German email and cloud service for private users, professionals, and businesses. It combines webmail and mobile apps with standard POP3, SMTP, and IMAP access, making it suitable for people who want encrypted email without giving up desktop-client compatibility. OpenPGP end-to-end encryption, S/MIME signing and encryption, aliases, spam filtering, antivirus scanning, calendars, contacts, and cloud storage give it a broader scope than a mailbox-only service. It supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, with integrations for Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.
The plan structure covers both free and paid use. Freemail includes 4 GB of storage, one email address, OpenPGP encryption, CalDAV/CardDAV, and spam and virus protection. Connect costs €1.49 per month and adds 10 GB of mailbox storage, 10 aliases, OpenPGP and S/MIME, and an ad-free mailbox. Premium costs €2.99 per month with 20 GB of mailbox storage, 24 aliases, WebDAV, CalDAV/CardDAV, and 200 credits per month. Business costs €5.99 per month and includes 50 GB of mailbox storage, 50 aliases, WebDAV, calendar and contact synchronization, and an own mail domain. Plans are prepaid and have minimum booking periods.
Its strongest fit is for users who value established mail protocols alongside encryption and related productivity tools. Trainable spam filtering, antivirus scanning, two-factor authentication, push notifications, and synchronization across calendar and contact apps add practical coverage. The main trade-off is that storage, aliases, ad-free service, and domain support depend on the selected tier; the free plan is intentionally limited, while a custom domain requires Business. Choose eclipso Mail Europe if you want affordable encrypted email that works with familiar desktop and mobile clients. Consider another provider if you need a broader choice of included domains or fewer plan-based limits.
