EasyBCD is a Windows utility for configuring and editing the Windows Boot Configuration Data store. It is designed for people managing dual-boot or multiboot systems, including setups involving Windows, Linux, macOS, BSD, legacy systems, and bootable media. Users can add, rename, remove, configure, and reorder boot entries, while also customizing boot targets, timeout settings, hidden drives, and boot sequences. The product has been available since 2004 and is provided by NeoSmart Technologies.
Its feature set covers both routine configuration and recovery tasks. EasyBCD can boot from USB drives, ISO images, virtual disks, VHD, and WinPE, and it supports EFI/UEFI and GPT disks alongside BIOS-based systems. It can back up and restore BCD configurations, repair or recreate Windows bootloader files, and create bootable USB media. That breadth makes it suitable when one Windows-based tool needs to manage several operating systems or boot targets. UEFI support has an important qualification: many multiboot features are disabled or restricted in EFI mode.
EasyBCD uses a freemium model. The Non-commercial plan is free for personal, non-commercial use and includes community support, but it does not provide early access to new features. The Commercial plan costs $39.99 USD one time and adds priority technical support, compatibility with enterprise and professional editions of Windows, a detailed PDF instruction manual, and automatic upgrades to new releases. A $20 USD one-time Deployment License applies to each additional machine where an EasyBCD-created boot profile is cloned or deployed, with volume discounts available. EasyBCD suits Windows users who need detailed boot-entry control; users needing a cross-platform tool or unrestricted EFI multiboot features should look elsewhere.
