Droid Transfer review
A focused Windows tool for exporting Android messages and backing up phone content.

Droid Transfer is Windows software for moving and managing content from Android phones. It is aimed at people who want computer-based copies of messages, media, contacts, calendars, call history, files and app APKs. The companion Android app, Transfer Companion, connects the phone to the Windows PC over USB or local Wi-Fi. A preview feature lets users review phone content before copying, while message exports can be saved as PDF, HTML, CSV or text files.
Its strongest area is message and media handling. Droid Transfer can copy photos and videos, transfer music between Android and a PC, and support iTunes synchronization for music. It also backs up and restores contacts, saves calendars and call history to a Windows PC, and copies APK files to the computer for installation on another Android device. The APK workflow is computer-mediated rather than a direct phone-to-phone transfer, so it suits archival and controlled device-management tasks more than migration between two phones.
The licensing structure is straightforward: the Lifetime License supports indefinite use on 2 PCs with unlimited Android devices, while the 12 Month and 6 Month Licenses provide unrestricted access on 1 PC for their respective periods, also with unlimited Android devices and no automatic renewal. Droid Transfer should appeal to Android users who want detailed exports and local computer backups. It is less suitable for anyone seeking direct phone-to-phone migration or software for macOS, Linux or iOS. The product works alongside Transfer Companion and the Google Play Store rather than presenting a broader cross-platform device ecosystem.
