DoubleCloud Managed ClickHouse review
A capable managed ClickHouse service whose operations have been wound down.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
DoubleCloud Managed ClickHouse was a hosted service for startups and established organizations building real-time analytics infrastructure. It provisioned managed ClickHouse clusters on AWS or Google Cloud and supported multiple deployment regions, with optional BYOC deployments in a customer’s cloud account. The product was aimed at teams that wanted managed cluster operations rather than self-managing ClickHouse infrastructure, particularly those needing autoscaling, private networking, and infrastructure automation.
Its strongest technical angle was breadth across cluster configuration and operations. Storage and instance autoscaling could adjust capacity, while sharding and replicated cluster configurations supported different data and availability requirements. Teams could select ClickHouse versions, use private connection strings and VPC networking, and access a browser-based WebSQL editor. Automatic daily backups included seven-day retention. Terraform and API management added infrastructure-as-code and programmatic administration options, while integrations included PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, BigQuery, and Prometheus.
The decisive consideration is operational availability: DoubleCloud has wound down operations, and its official website is an archived version. That makes the service unsuitable for teams seeking a current hosted ClickHouse provider, active onboarding, or an ongoing support relationship. Its former feature set would have suited organizations prioritizing cloud choice, autoscaling, backup automation, and configurable ClickHouse deployments, but buyers now need an actively operating alternative for production workloads. The archived product remains most relevant as a reference for the capabilities DoubleCloud offered, not as a current platform selection.
