DocEvent FTP as a Service review
A focused managed endpoint service for teams connecting transfer clients to cloud storage.

DocEvent FTP as a Service provides managed SFTP, FTP, FTPS and SCP endpoints in front of a customer's existing cloud storage. It is aimed at teams that need people or transfer clients to reach storage without placing files in DocEvent's own storage: files stream to a bucket in the customer's account. Per-user accounts, SSH-key authentication, IP allowlisting and blocklisting, activity logs, and file restoration or reprocessing make it relevant to small teams with straightforward transfer needs.
Its storage connections include Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, Google Cloud Storage and S3-compatible storage. Users can connect through standard transfer clients, and browser-based file access is also available. A REST API covers service, user, firewall-rule and log management. This suits teams that want a managed access layer around existing storage, but the product's stated scope is narrower than a broader workflow-automation service; Channels file-routing automation is a separate early-access service, free while in development.
The Basic plan costs $0 per user per month and includes seven-day log retention. Standard is $2 per user per month with 30-day retention, but the pricing page states a $10 monthly minimum; its data-transfer allowance is 1 GB. Premium costs $5 per user per month, includes 90-day retention and a 3 GB data-transfer allowance. These allowances concern transfer, not storage. Choose DocEvent when managed endpoints, access controls and recovery for customer-owned cloud storage are the priority. Teams seeking broader workflow automation should consider an alternative; support is offered by email, phone and documentation, rather than 24/7 support.

- Focused on transfer access rather than workflow automation
