Diversion is a cloud-native version control platform for teams managing source code alongside large binary assets. It targets game developers, virtual production studios, architectural visualization teams, AI/ML groups, and other creative teams working with code, models, media, and related files. Its feature set includes branching, merging, commit history, real-time synchronization, selective synchronization, file locking, reviews, API access, and repository management across web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and API environments.

Pricing spans free and paid options. The Indie plan is free for the first five users, supports up to 20 users, includes 100GB of storage, and allows up to five repositories, subject to eligibility. Education is free for up to 10 users and also requires eligibility. Pro costs $25 per user per month and includes up to 50 seats, 100GB of storage, unlimited repositories, API access, CI/CD integration, and webhooks. Studio costs $35 per user per month and adds code and asset reviews, unlimited webhooks, granular permissions, hard locks, and priority support. A 21-day free trial is also available. Enterprise adds unlimited users, on-premises or private-cloud deployment, multi-site deployment with proxy, SAML SSO, custom integrations, and a 24/7 support SLA.

Diversion’s strongest fit is a game or creative production workflow where large files need versioning and controlled collaboration. Soft-lock indicators, hard file or folder locks, partial and shallow checkouts, selective synchronization, and asset previews address workflows that extend beyond text-based source code. Integrations include Unreal Engine, Unity, Jenkins, and TeamCity. Teams that need native large-file handling, reviews, and creative-tool connections should shortlist Diversion. Smaller teams without eligibility for the free plans, or teams seeking a lower-cost option than the paid tiers, should compare alternatives before choosing it.
