DiskTree review
A low-cost Mac analyzer with useful developer scans and straightforward cleanup tools.

DiskTree is a native macOS disk space analyzer for identifying large files, folders, caches, and developer-related storage usage. It is aimed at Mac users who want a visual way to inspect storage and focus on common development directories. The app supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or later. Its proportional treemap shows the relative size of files and folders, while category-based diagnosis covers 24+ storage categories. Free users can inspect storage and reveal items in Finder; Pro users can move selected files to Trash from inside the app.
Pricing is structured around a free plan and three Pro options. DiskTree Free includes the visual treemap explorer, disk diagnosis in view-only mode, and Reveal in Finder. DiskTree Pro Monthly costs $2.99 per month and adds space recovery, a menu bar monitor, disk alerts, and cancellation at any time. DiskTree Pro Annual costs $14.99 per year and includes the same Pro features plus priority email support. DiskTree Pro Lifetime costs $34.99 one time, adds priority email support, and includes all future updates free. The paid tiers are therefore most relevant to users who want ongoing monitoring or in-app cleanup rather than inspection alone.
Developer-focused scanning is the clearest area of specialization, with support for Xcode, Gradle, Maven, and node_modules. The menu bar monitor and disk-space alerts extend the app beyond a one-time storage review, while on-device processing keeps analysis local without cloud uploads or telemetry. DiskTree should suit Mac developers who value treemaps, targeted scans, and a low-cost path to cleanup. Users on other platforms, or those who need more extensive functionality than its focused analyzer and cleanup set, should consider an alternative.
