Our verdict on Disco
Disco brings structured learning and community activity into a hosted, branded academy. Organizations can offer self-paced and cohort-based programs alongside discussion feeds, channels, direct messages, group conversations, and virtual or in-person events. Member groups, subgroups, roles, permissions, and moderation approvals provide ways to organize participation. That mix fits customer education, employee training, professional communities, accelerators, and other programs where learning and ongoing interaction belong together. It is less suited to teams looking only for a discussion space without courses or learning operations.
The product's breadth is a central consideration. Custom domains and branded academies support a distinct member-facing experience, while iOS and Android apps give members mobile access. Administrators can review member, attendance, progress, and revenue analytics. AI features span program generation, quizzes, transcripts, summaries, and Ask AI, extending beyond a single course-authoring function. Zoom, Slack, Stripe, Zapier, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook are listed integrations. The API and webhooks, as well as SAML SSO, are Enterprise capabilities; branded mobile apps are available on select plans. Organizations should weigh this broad learning-and-community scope against their need for each capability and the complexity of operating a combined program.
According to the vendor's pricing page, Organization costs $399 per month with annual billing and includes up to 500 members, a custom-domain branded academy, cohort and self-paced programs, and AI agents for admins and members. A 14-day trial is offered, rather than a permanent platform-level free plan. Enterprise has custom pricing, scales to 100k+ members, and adds API and webhooks plus SAML SSO. Community operators can create a default free membership inside a community, which is distinct from a free platform plan. Disco is a fit for organizations prepared to pay for an integrated learning and community environment; buyers seeking a free platform or a discussion-only tool should consider alternatives.
