DigitalOcean OpenClaw is a one-click deployment of the open-source OpenClaw AI assistant on a DigitalOcean Droplet. It suits teams that want to run an assistant on infrastructure they manage, connect it to messaging services, and choose hosted or local AI model runtimes. The web dashboard covers configuration, logs, and monitoring, while SSH access supports setup and administration. It is available for cloud or self-hosted deployment, with the customer responsible for maintaining the instance.

Its hosting and pricing require careful distinction: the Basic Droplet plan starts at $4 per month and includes 512 MiB memory, 1 vCPU, 500 GiB transfer, and 10 GiB SSD. The published plans also include a one-click setup, but the $4 starting option is not necessarily sufficient for OpenClaw's recommended requirements. That makes the entry price useful as a starting point for comparing Droplet options, not a guarantee of the configuration a particular deployment needs. Buyers should weigh their intended workload before choosing a Droplet.

OpenClaw supports WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Signal, iMessage, Google Chat, and Microsoft Teams, plus Anthropic Claude and OpenAI GPT. Multi-agent routing uses isolated sessions and configurations, while tool execution can include web browsing, API calls, filesystem operations, voice, and CLI actions. Security controls include authenticated gateway tokens, firewall rate limiting, non-root execution, Docker container sandboxing, and device pairing. Choose it if you want control over an OpenClaw deployment and are prepared to manage it; choose a managed service instead if you need the vendor to handle updates and ongoing instance maintenance.
