Dietry review
Flexible tracking across Android, web and self-hosted setups, with community-based support.

Dietry is a nutrition diary for people who want to track meals, calories, macronutrients and related health habits across Android, iOS and web, with Linux and self-hosted options. Its audience includes people who prefer open-source software or want the option to keep their setup self-hosted, as well as users seeking a managed cloud edition. The diary groups food entries by meal and tracks calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat against goals. Users can also record activity, body measurements and water intake.
Food lookup combines search across Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central with mobile barcode scanning, personal food entries and estimates. Dietry also supports offline logging, syncing changes when connectivity returns. On Android, activity logging can import from Health Connect; HealthKit is also listed as an integration. These options make it more than a basic calorie counter, though people who only want a lightweight food log may not need its broader tracking. The product information does not confirm Wear OS support, so Android users looking for watch-based logging should not assume it is available.
The editions shape the choice. Community Edition is open source and self-hosted, with the core food and calorie diary, macro tracking and personal food database. Cloud Free adds managed hosting, meal templates, streak tracking and CSV report export. Cloud Pro adds micronutrient tracking, advanced analytics, and mobile nutrition-label scanning and AI meal parsing. CSV export is available in Cloud editions. Choose Dietry if offline logging, open source or cross-platform access matters; choose another option if community-based support is not a fit or if you need functionality beyond the features in the edition you select.
