Deno Sandbox review
A focused sandbox service for isolated code execution, not conventional web hosting.

Deno Sandbox provides API-controlled Linux microVMs for running untrusted or generated code. It is aimed at developers building AI agents, secure plugins, ephemeral CI runners, smoke tests, and preview environments. Sandboxes can execute commands, manage files and processes, run package managers and services, expose HTTP endpoints, and support SSH access. JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python SDKs are supported, with package access through npm, JSR, and PyPI.
Pricing is tied to Deno Deploy plans. The Free plan costs $0 per month but does not include Deno Sandbox; it includes 1M requests per month, 20 GiB of egress bandwidth, and 5 custom domains. Pro costs $20 per month and includes 3 concurrent sandboxes per region plus 5 GiB of volume storage, while sandbox compute is billed through plan meters. Builder costs $200 per month and raises those allowances to 20 concurrent sandboxes per region and 50 GiB of volume storage. Enterprise offers custom pricing, custom sandbox concurrency and volume storage, and enterprise support.
Its strongest fit is controlled execution rather than broad hosting. Outbound access can be restricted to approved hosts, secrets can be redacted and substituted only for approved requests, and environments can be configured with memory, region, variables, labels, and timeouts. Sandboxes are ephemeral by default, with persistent volumes and snapshots available when state must be retained. Direct deployment to Deno Deploy and support for Linux and API workflows suit teams already building around that ecosystem. Choose it for isolated runtime infrastructure; choose a conventional hosting product when you need standard web-application deployment features.
