DefectDojo brings vulnerability findings into a shared workflow for security teams, application security programs, penetration testers, and engineering organizations. It imports results from security tools, organizes vulnerabilities into assets and engagements, deduplicates repeated findings, and tracks triage through remediation. Its open-source edition can be self-hosted, while Pro is offered as cloud-hosted SaaS or self-hosted software. The product is best suited to teams that need to manage and prioritize findings across tools, not teams looking primarily for a scanner.

A key strength is the lifecycle around imported findings: teams can assign statuses, record risk acceptances, set remediation deadlines, and track SLAs. Risk and priority scoring, dashboards, metrics, and reporting help organize work beyond the initial import. DefectDojo also supports web application and DAST workflows, plus CI/CD integration through its REST API. These capabilities make it a management layer for coordinating vulnerability work rather than a replacement for the tools that generate scan results.

The Free plan is the self-hosted open-source edition, with core finding import and deduplication, REST API, and Swagger UI. Pro adds cloud-hosted or self-hosted deployment, additional connectors and import methods, advanced dashboards and reporting, finding priority and risk features, a Rules Engine, and premium support. According to the vendor's pricing page, Pro pricing is quote-based; Pro also offers a two-week trial. Integrations include Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab Boards, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. Choose DefectDojo if your team needs a central place to triage and track findings across tools; consider another product if your main requirement is vulnerability scanning itself.
