Decidiq is an open-source meeting and decision management application for councils, association boards, corporate boards, management teams, and other governance bodies. It runs on the web or in a self-hosted Nextcloud environment, with data stored in the organization’s own Nextcloud instance. The feature set covers meeting scheduling, calendar and list views, recurring meeting series, ordered agendas, agenda templates, motions, amendments, co-signatures, voting, quorum checks, minutes, decision records, action items, dashboards, and configurable workflows. It is distributed under the EUPL-1.2 license and includes AI chat companion tools with MCP governance features.
The strongest fit is for organizations that need a formal record of how decisions are proposed, debated, approved, and followed up. Decidiq supports majority, roll-call, and secret-ballot voting, while minutes can move through drafting, approval, publication, and digital signatures. Searchable decision history, audit trails, assigned action items, due dates, statuses, and governance dashboards connect meeting outcomes to ongoing accountability. These capabilities make it more suitable for decision-heavy governance than for a lightweight calendar-and-agenda workflow.
Its platform fit is closely tied to Nextcloud. Integrations include Nextcloud, OpenRegister, Nextcloud Files, Nextcloud Talk, Nextcloud Deck, and Nextcloud AI Chat Companion, giving existing Nextcloud environments a connected path for files, communication, task follow-up, and AI assistance. Configurable workflows can support multiple governance domains, but that breadth also brings more structure than a small team may need. Choose Decidiq when open-source control, self-hosting, formal voting, minutes, and decision tracking matter; choose another meeting tool when the priority is a simpler, less governance-oriented experience.
