DBmarlin is a database monitoring and performance analysis product for teams managing relational and cloud database estates. It brings SQL activity, wait states, resource usage, execution plans and database changes into one interface. Its coverage includes PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, CockroachDB, IBM Db2, MariaDB, SAP HANA, Informix, SAP ASE, MongoDB and Snowflake. With Linux, Windows, self-hosted and web availability, it fits teams that need to monitor varied database environments rather than a single engine.

The free plan provides coverage for one database instance. The Starter plan includes one database licence, unlimited users, wait-state analysis, explain plans, blocking sessions and host monitoring. Premium costs £999 per licence per year and adds unlimited licences, unlimited users, priority support and one-second granularity, alongside everything in Starter. Monthly pricing is not offered. Second-level data is retained for 8 days by default, while hourly aggregates are retained for 31 days, so teams should align the product with their required investigation window and licensing scope.

DBmarlin’s strongest area is performance diagnosis. It supports SQL statement and query performance monitoring, automatic execution-plan capture, schema, parameter and explain-plan change detection, root-cause drilldown, host monitoring, events for releases and infrastructure changes, and AI Co-pilot recommendations. Integrations with Datadog, Grafana, Harness, Instana, Jenkins, Liquibase, New Relic and Splunk Observability Cloud help connect database signals with wider observability and delivery workflows. Choose DBmarlin when broad engine coverage and wait-state or blocking analysis matter; teams seeking a narrower database setup or longer default second-level retention may prefer a different fit.
