DBArtisan review
A broad Windows tool for DBAs managing multiple database engines.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
DBArtisan is a self-hosted Windows database administration tool for DBAs responsible for multiple relational database platforms. It brings administration for Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Oracle, IBM Db2, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Greenplum, Amazon Redshift and Snowflake into one interface. Its scope covers database objects, users, roles, permissions, monitoring, diagnostics, migration, SQL development and capacity analysis, making it suited to teams that need a common working environment across varied database estates.
The licensing structure is paid and offers six options: Single Platform or Multi-Platform, each available as Workstation, Named Network or Concurrent License. The Single Platform plans support one database platform, while the Multi-Platform plans support multiple platforms. The listed starting price is 4,459, with one-time license pricing that includes first-year maintenance. A 14-day trial is available, but there is no free plan. LDAP, JDBC, ODBC and Microsoft Windows Task Scheduler integrations support identity, connectivity and scheduled job workflows. Teams standardizing on Windows and managing several supported engines will get the clearest fit from this model.
Its strongest differentiator is breadth within database administration rather than a narrow single-engine focus. DBArtisan combines performance, capacity and storage diagnostics with process monitoring, alert notifications, schema and table-data migration, object management, SQL debugging, profiling, execution-plan analysis and space trend analysis. Permission administration adds user, role and access management, while Windows Task Scheduler integration supports job management. Choose it when one administration interface across multiple engines is more valuable than a lower-cost or browser-based option. Look elsewhere if your priority is cross-platform deployment, automated database-server provisioning, high-availability configuration management or audit-log recording.
