DATASTOR Shield is hybrid cloud backup, restore, archiving, and replication software for businesses. It protects Windows servers, workstations, virtual machines, and selected databases, with support for Windows, macOS, and Linux environments. The product suits organizations that need centralized control over backup and recovery, long-term retention policies, and multiple storage destinations rather than a basic file-sync service. Software-only and integrated-appliance deployment models provide two ways to implement it.

Its storage and platform fit are broad. Backups can target disk, tape, NAS/DAS, and cloud storage, including Amazon S3. Support for iSCSI, Fibre Channel, CIFS/SMB, NFS, and tape libraries gives it room to fit existing storage infrastructure. Centralized backup, restore, and site-to-site replication management keeps these operations in one product, while AES-256 encryption with customer-controlled keys addresses control over protected data. A 30-day trial is available, but the commercial model directs buyers to contact sales rather than presenting self-serve plan choices.

The standout area is recovery depth for organizations with demanding retention and restoration needs. Point-in-time recovery, drag-and-drop file recovery, full-system recovery, and bare-metal recovery cover both granular and complete restore scenarios. Backup verification, automatic self-healing, and daily checkup reports add ongoing integrity checks, while source-side global deduplication can reduce the amount of data transferred and stored. Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange protection extends coverage beyond general files and systems. DATASTOR Shield is a strong fit for businesses prioritizing long retention, hybrid targets, and recovery controls; organizations wanting a perpetual free plan, transparent self-service pricing, or narrowly focused consumer backup may prefer another product.
