Our verdict on D2RMM
D2RMM is an open-source desktop mod manager built specifically for Diablo II: Resurrected. It is aimed at players who want to install and manage D2RMM mods from local archives or folders, or access mods through Nexus Mods integration. The application provides configuration support for mod-specific settings and is available across Windows, experimental Apple Silicon macOS, and experimental Linux environments.
Its strongest area is mod handling and scripting depth. D2RMM can copy mod assets into the game data output directory, track copied files for uninstall cleanup, and detect Diablo II: Resurrected installations. For mod authors and advanced users, JavaScript and TypeScript support works with the supplied API to read and write JSON game files, TSV game data files, save files, and stash files. Nexus-hosted mod files and versions can also be checked, giving the manager a built-in source and version workflow rather than requiring every mod to start as a local package.
The published feature set makes D2RMM a focused choice rather than a general-purpose mod manager. Its deployment method is file copying, and its platform experience differs by operating system: Windows has the clearest official path, while Apple Silicon macOS and Linux support are experimental; Linux also requires external tools such as Lutris. Choose D2RMM if Diablo II: Resurrected is your target game and you want scripting, save and data-file access, Nexus integration, and cleanup tracking. Choose another tool if you need a manager spanning multiple games or a platform path outside these supported environments.
