CurrentWare Data Loss Prevention, powered by AccessPatrol, helps IT and security teams monitor and control sensitive-data movement across endpoint devices. It is designed for small businesses, enterprises, regulated organizations, government, healthcare, schools, and managed service providers. The product can block unauthorized USB devices, removable media, cloud storage, webmail, applications, and file transfers while logging activity and generating alerts for policy violations. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints and can be deployed through CurrentWare Cloud or on an organization’s own infrastructure.
AccessPatrol centers on device and transfer control. Administrators can apply full, read-only, or no-access policies to USB and removable media, allowlist devices by vendor ID, product ID, or serial number, and monitor or block file transfers by extension or file signature. Controls also cover cloud storage, webmail, file-transfer services, applications, and AI tools. Role-based policies can be assigned by user, group, department, or endpoint, giving organizations a way to align restrictions with how teams handle sensitive information.
The product also fits environments that need directory synchronization, alerting, audit reporting, and security-system handoff. It synchronizes with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, sends real-time alerts for blocked devices, uploads, and suspicious transfers, and supports scheduled reports in PDF and CSV formats. SIEM connectivity includes Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm, and Elastic, with CEF support. Organizations should choose it when endpoint, removable-media, and transfer controls are central requirements; teams seeking a broader platform beyond these control and monitoring capabilities may prefer an alternative.
