Our verdict on CurrencyLook
CurrencyLook is a browser-based converter for travelers, expats, investors and businesses that need a broad set of currencies without installing an app. It converts more than 160 fiat currencies using daily-updated mid-market rates and also provides an eight-cryptocurrency converter using CoinGecko prices. Core tools require no account and include conversion history stored locally in the browser, with timestamps and rates.
The Free plan bundles the currency converter, rate charts, multi-currency comparison, price alerts, conversion history and crypto tools. Charts can display line or candlestick views across 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, giving users several ways to review recent rate movement. Target-rate alerts are checked periodically while the page is open. CurrencyLook also offers weekday email rate digests and big-move alerts, while an optional PRO tier provides an ad-free experience.
As a web-only service, CurrencyLook fits users who work in a browser and want quick comparisons, historical context and notifications rather than an offline mobile tool. The local-browser history keeps records on the device, and GDPR is listed as part of its compliance posture. Email is the stated support channel. Users needing conversions without connectivity, continuously refreshed fiat rates or alerts that run independently of an open page should consider a different type of currency app.
