CubePath DNS Health Checks monitors A and AAAA record targets and changes DNS responses when endpoint health changes. It is designed for businesses and infrastructure teams that need automatic DNS-based failover for services reachable over HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, or ICMP ping. Checks can validate expected HTTP status codes and apply configurable intervals, timeouts, and healthy or unhealthy thresholds. After enough consecutive failures, CubePath removes an address from DNS answers; after consecutive successes, it restores the address.

Pricing is organized around DNS zones and an add-on. The Free DNS zone does not support health checks, while Pro DNS zone and Business DNS zone do. The Health check add-on costs $10 USD per health check per month, so the published pricing model charges by check rather than bundling a set number of monitored targets into one subscription. CubePath also documents prorating and billing pauses when checks are disabled. This structure may suit focused deployments with a small number of checks, but costs can rise as monitored endpoints and failure conditions multiply.

The standout capability is control over DNS failover behavior: intervals range from 10 to 3,600 seconds, thresholds are configurable, and failed DNS addresses can be removed and restored automatically. Web and API access support different operating models, while GeoDNS regional records can be combined with health checks. The scope remains focused on DNS-record failover rather than broader traffic management. Teams that need Terraform-based provisioning or a wider infrastructure automation ecosystem should consider an alternative; CubePath is a stronger fit for organizations prioritizing protocol-level checks and straightforward DNS response changes.
