Critical Mention is a cloud-based media monitoring and social listening platform for public relations, communications, marketing, agencies, brands, and public-sector organizations. It brings social media, online news, television, and radio coverage into a single monitoring workflow, with podcasts and licensed content also described as tracked. Communications teams looking to follow coverage across social and broadcast channels are its clearest fit; teams focused on a wider range of social networks may prefer to compare alternatives.

Its breadth across media is the defining strength. Real-time keyword and media searches are paired with sentiment analysis, share-of-voice and audience-value metrics, custom dashboards and reports, email alerts, and daily digests. Archive search supports historical coverage, while the vendor says search results are available for up to 26 months. API access covers content, metadata, and archives. That combination suits teams that need reporting on both social discussion and traditional media, rather than a tool centered only on social channels.

Platform fit is more focused: listed integrations include Google Analytics and Slack via RSS, and the social networks named are Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter/X. Onclusive Social also mentions TikTok, LinkedIn, and Threads, so organizations that prioritize those channels should compare coverage before choosing. According to the vendor's pricing approach, pricing is customized and requires contacting sales; this may suit organizations evaluating a tailored monitoring package, but makes it harder to compare costs without a sales conversation. Critical Mention launched in 2002 and was acquired by Onclusive in 2022. Choose it for combined social, online news, and broadcast monitoring; look elsewhere if broad social-network reach is the main requirement.
