Our verdict on Convo
Convo is a workplace communication and collaboration platform for distributed teams. It combines one-to-one and group chat with organized groups, a company newsfeed, file sharing, comments, annotations, polls, audio and video calls, workflow automation, and search. Its positioning covers office, retail, non-desk, media, education, and other distributed workforces. Access spans web, macOS, iOS, Android, and a Chrome extension, with paid tiers for larger networks and enterprise administration.
Search is the clearest differentiator. The Starter plan supports up to 10 users, a 25 MB file upload limit, search across 200 posts, and limited chat participants. Premium costs $6.67 per user per month or $80.04 per user per year, and expands capacity to 1,000 users, 5 GB uploads, unlimited search, and unlimited group participants. Enterprise supports unlimited users, 5 GB uploads, and enterprise support and administration. Teams choosing Convo should look closely at the gap between Starter's search and participant limits and Premium's broader collaboration capacity.
