Our verdict on Comic Vision
Comic Vision is a comic and manga reader for Apple Vision Pro, aimed at readers who want to browse local files or connect to a self-hosted OPDS catalog. It reads CBZ, CBR, ZIP, RAR, and PDF files, and supports right-to-left manga as well as vertical webtoon reading. Its Apple Vision Pro focus makes it a specialized option rather than a general-purpose choice across devices.
Catalog access is a central strength: Comic Vision connects to OPDS 1.x and 2.0, with browsing, streaming, and offline downloads. For readers maintaining a self-hosted catalog, that provides a way to explore and read books without first relying only on local files. OPDS-PSE is also listed among its integrations. The app is free to download, with optional in-app support purchases; those purchases do not unlock features.
Reading and library tools give the app more range than a simple file viewer. Readers can choose horizontal scrolling, vertical long-strip mode, or an optional 3D page-curl mode. Search covers titles, series, publishers, creators, characters, and tags, while filters, manual and smart lists, and comic- or page-level metadata editing support library organization. The tradeoff is its narrow platform scope and lack of cloud sync. Apple Vision Pro owners who want OPDS access and varied comic reading modes should consider it; readers needing cross-platform access or synchronized libraries should look elsewhere.
