Codetree review
A focused planning layer for GitHub teams managing work across repositories.

Codetree is a project management application for software teams that use GitHub Issues. It synchronizes GitHub issues and pull requests, then adds a broader planning layer with multi-repository views, Kanban boards, custom workflow stages, dependency tracking, epics, subtasks, estimates, filtering, saved queries, automation, and reporting. It is aimed at teams that need to coordinate development work across repositories without moving issue and pull-request activity away from GitHub. Web and self-hosted deployment options are available, including private-cloud deployment for GitHub Enterprise installations.
Pricing is structured around four monthly plans. Small Team costs $24 per month for 3 users and 15 projects. Startup costs $49 per month for 8 users and unlimited projects, while Business costs $99 per month for 20 users and unlimited projects. Serious Business costs $199 per month for 50 users and unlimited projects. A two-week trial is available. The plan structure makes Codetree easier to assess for teams with defined user requirements, but the paid-only model and user limits on lower tiers may make it less suitable for very small teams or projects with changing membership.
Codetree’s strongest fit is multi-repository planning inside the GitHub ecosystem. Teams can organize shared work through consolidated project views, use Kanban and custom stages, and trigger workflow automation from branch and pull-request events. Dependency tracking, epics, subtasks, estimates, and reporting extend it beyond basic issue synchronization. The trade-off is a focused integration scope: the listed integrations are GitHub and GitHub Enterprise. Choose Codetree when GitHub is the central development platform and cross-repository planning is important; choose an alternative when broad integrations beyond GitHub are a primary requirement.
