Cloudreve review
A self-hosted file hub with broad storage options and Windows sync.

Cloudreve gives individuals, teams, and organizations a self-hosted system for file storage and management. It combines web-based file access and controls with storage policies that can route files to local, remote, or cloud backends. The free Community edition includes basic features, unlimited users, and cross-platform sync. It fits teams that want to manage their own deployment and choose storage providers; organizations seeking a managed service or broad desktop sync coverage should look elsewhere.
Storage flexibility is a central strength. Cloudreve supports WebDAV access to configured providers and integrations including OneDrive, S3-compatible storage, Qiniu Kodo, Alibaba Cloud OSS, Tencent Cloud COS, Huawei Cloud OBS, Kingsoft Cloud KS3, and Upyun. Users can configure policies for different users or groups. File workflows include parallel resumable uploads, expiring sharing links, previews for images, video, audio, ePub, and other files, plus archive handling and batch downloads. This breadth suits deployments that need to combine storage locations, though it also means administrators must manage their own server and storage configuration.
The plan distinction matters: Community is free, while Pro adds sharing and collaboration, monetization, and advanced storage management, with a lifetime license and updates. Pro D5 includes Pro features and covers five root domains; the licensing model is domain-based rather than per-user. The Windows desktop client provides bidirectional synchronization and on-demand access, but its documentation specifies a Pro server, so buyers should not assume that desktop sync is available across every edition or platform. Choose Cloudreve for self-hosted control and varied backends; consider alternatives if you need managed hosting or desktop synchronization beyond the stated Windows offering.
