Cloudflare WAN, formerly Magic WAN, is an enterprise WAN-as-a-service product for connecting and securing offices, data centers, and cloud resources through Cloudflare's global network. It is designed for organizations managing distributed, hybrid, and multicloud environments that need site-to-site connectivity, VPN management, traffic steering, firewall policy enforcement, and network visibility. The product is available through web and API interfaces, and Cloudflare states that the 2026 rename did not change existing functionality, configurations, or billing.

Its cloud ecosystem is a central strength. Cloudflare WAN covers AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, with automated cloud VPN on-ramps and integrations including AWS Transit Gateway, Google Cloud VPN, and Microsoft Azure. Teams can also use IPsec and GRE tunnels, BGP peering for route announcement and withdrawal, or Cloudflare Network Interconnect for private dedicated connections. The Cloudflare One Appliance adds automatic traffic steering, while infrastructure-as-code support fits organizations managing network configuration programmatically. This combination makes the product relevant where cloud connectivity spans multiple providers rather than a single cloud environment.

The feature set extends beyond connectivity. Layer 3 and Layer 4 firewall policy enforcement, network overview and traffic analytics, traceroutes, and packet captures bring security and troubleshooting into the same WAN offering. That breadth suits enterprise network operations teams that want one platform for routing, cloud on-ramps, policy, and visibility. It is less suitable for smaller or narrowly focused deployments that only need basic VPN connectivity, and the enterprise-only model means buyers must work through sales for pricing. Choose Cloudflare WAN for global, multicloud WAN operations; look elsewhere if the requirement is a simple, narrowly scoped network connection.
