Cloud Temple Managed MariaDB review
A dedicated MariaDB service for critical workloads needing clustered high availability.

Cloud Temple Managed MariaDB is a fully managed MariaDB service for transactional, analytical, and mission-critical applications. It runs MariaDB Community Server with Galera Cluster across three nodes and multiple availability zones. That makes it suited to organisations in healthcare, finance, industry, and the public sector that need dedicated database infrastructure, private network isolation, and managed lifecycle operations. It is delivered through the web and is hosted on sovereign SecNumCloud infrastructure in France.
The four plans map capacity and workload criticality to different service levels. XS is intended for development, testing, or non-critical workloads, with 2 vCPUs and 8 GiB RAM per node, 100 GB per cluster, and a P4 SLA. S provides 4 vCPUs and 16 GiB RAM per node, 250 GB per cluster, and a P3 SLA for standard production workloads. M increases capacity to 8 vCPUs and 32 GiB RAM per node, with 500 GB per cluster and a P2 SLA. L is designed for mission-critical production workloads, with 16 vCPUs and 64 GiB RAM per node, 1,000 GB per cluster, and a P1 SLA.
Its strongest technical fit is high availability and recovery. Synchronous Galera replication, multi-AZ automatic failover, and the MaxScale high-availability proxy support read/write splitting. Scheduled physical backups use mariabackup, while optional scheduled logical backups use mysqldump. Point-in-time recovery combines backups with binary logs, and backup retention is 7 days by default, with an option to extend it to 30 days. TLS 1.3, AES-256 encryption at rest, and dedicated customer clusters strengthen its fit for sensitive environments. Choose it for managed, isolated MariaDB clusters; consider another option if a free tier or broader platform coverage is a priority.

- Private isolation with TLS 1.3 and AES-256 encryption at rest
- Where it doesn't
- Paid service with no free plan
- Backup retention is 7 days by default
