Our verdict on Clearroom

Clearroom is macOS software for mixing and mastering engineers who need room and headphone correction in a stereo monitoring chain. It guides measurement with a microphone, evaluates whether measurements are usable, and calculates corrective filters from the measured response. Users can select Harman, Flat, Gentle Tilt or Custom target curves, then choose among ten correction intensities. Correction stays on monitoring rather than being applied to exported bounces.

Two paid plans cover different payment preferences. The One-time licence costs $215 and provides a perpetual licence that activates on two Macs. Rent to own costs $40 per month for six monthly payments; after those payments, the licence becomes perpetual and also activates on two Macs. A 14-day trial is available, and the software runs locally on Mac computers. AU, VST3 and AAX plug-ins fit Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, REAPER and Studio One, while documentation and email are the listed support channels.

Its deepest feature set centers on measured correction: FIR hybrid filters can reach 8,000 taps, custom microphone calibration files are supported, and headphone calibration profiles cover 782 headphones. That makes Clearroom suited to users who want guided setup without building correction manually. The scope is deliberately narrow, however: it handles up to two channels, offers no hardware calibration, and does not provide phase correction, bass management or multi-subwoofer integration. Mac-based stereo engineers should consider it; Windows users, multichannel rooms and studios needing broader bass or speaker-system management should choose another tool.
